Australia-Malaysia Ageing Research Collaboration

The MPS Geriatric SIG was honoured to participate in the Australia–Malaysia Ageing Research Collaboration Discussion on 21 September 2026, held at Monash University Malaysia.

This full-day session brought together researchers from the Centre for Medicine Use and Safety (CMUS), Monash University Australia, alongside members of the MPS Geriatric SIG and researchers from various institutes such as UoC, UiTM, UM, IMU, and Taylor’s University. The event provided a fantastic platform to network, exchange ideas, and identify complementary expertise to explore future research collaborations between Australia and Malaysia. We shared an introduction to our community of Malaysian pharmacists dedicated to enhancing elderly care with expertise and professionalism. It is hoped that this dialogue will open up opportunities for future collaboration, particularly in areas where our common clinical priorities in healthy ageing, medication management, optimisation, and deprescribing intersect.
