In (RAISE) projec,
The Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment (RAISE) project, jointly financed by the World Bank and PKSF, was a transformative initiative aimed at enhancing employability and productivity in the informal sector. I had the privilege of working on this impactful project, facilitating beneficiaries across urban and peri-urban areas. It was an incredible experience to contribute to the empowerment of low-income youth, COVID-affected individuals, and disadvantaged groups by providing skill development training, business management guidance, and access to inclusive finance.
As part of my role, I conducted Business Management and Entrepreneurship Development (BMED) training, equipping participants with essential life skills, technical knowledge, and risk management strategies. Additionally, I supported the apprenticeship program, where youth learned valuable skills under experienced master craftspersons, ensuring sustainable employment opportunities.
Working in this project allowed me to witness firsthand the transformative power of targeted interventions in creating a pathway for sustainable economic inclusion. The opportunity to empower individuals, help rebuild livelihoods, and contribute to the growth of micro-enterprises was both fulfilling and inspiring. This experience has profoundly shaped my professional journey, reinforcing my commitment to driving meaningful change through training and development initiatives.
As part of the RAISE project, we conducted a BMED training program at the Hajiganj branch for our beneficiaries. The training focused on women's empowerment, risk management, and pressure management, equipping participants with essential skills to navigate challenges and enhance their personal and professional growth effectively.
Under the RAISE project, we organized a BMED training orientation program at SDC's headquarters. The program introduced participants to key concepts of business management and entrepreneurship development, laying the foundation for skill enhancement and practical application in their ventures, fostering empowerment and sustainable growth.
As part of the RAISE project, a BMED training session was conducted at the Moyendia branch. The program focused on foundational concepts such as understanding businesses, entrepreneurship development, and exposure visits, providing participants with practical insights and hands-on experiences to enhance their entrepreneurial skills and foster sustainable growth opportunities.
