The Grey Wolf Warrior Society from the Ysleta Del Sur Reservation has been recognized Veteran Organization that is sought out for many Veteran Organizational events in El Paso County. The Grey Wolf Warriors blessed the annual Purple Heart Day Ceremony with a tradition Native American Blessing; invoking peace and safety to all attendees. Commander Garza requested this Proclamation and personal thanked them for their continued service to the community.
Members of the Veteran OneStop were presented this exceptional honor in recognition for their continued efforts in being a centralized hub to take care of service members, Veterans, and families. a claims representative from Texas Veterans Commission to assist with VA disability claims. Education department (western Governors University & Grand Canyon University) to assist with educational goals. Military Veteran Peer Network is there to assist with peer support, providing essential trainings, and community resources to assist with filling in any gaps that the SMVF may be experiencing in El Paso County since 2016.
Members of the Rio Grande Honor Flight were presented their proclamation certificate as they were inducted in the West Texas Purple Heart Trail. This Honor Flight has made significant efforts to transport veterans of the Korean and Vietnam Wars from El Paso to Washington D.C. and returned to the El Paso International Airport with the Respect they were denied when they returned from each conflict.
Gentiva Hospice has been serving the El Paso Community since 2014. The Lone Star Chapter inducted this business for their compassion toward those transitioning from Life. More so, many of those in their care are members of our veteran community. For their efforts, the Lone Star Chapter proclaimed Gentiva Hospice of El Paso as members of the West Texas Purple Heart Trail.
NAMI El Paso provides advocacy, public awareness, support and education so that all individuals living with mental health conditions and their families can build better lives. Executive Director of Nami, Isidro Torres Jr. was overjoyed with this proclamation that he felt that now with this recognition, NAMI can now be seen as a force for good in the veteran community.
On the August 9th, The Lone Star Chapter recognized Small Business Owner - Alexiz Sanchez's efforts to provide quality grooming and styling to not only her regular clients in El Paso but also the military and Veteran-Connected communities. Ms. Sanchez's efforts and admiration to serve these communities have made her and her small business a strong partner in the Veteran Capital of the U.S.A.
Therefore, "The Craft" was Proclaimed and inducted in the West Texas Purple Heart Trail.
