Description: This award is offered to provide for an Award to be presented by “military” and “non-military” organizations whose members who are not members of JROTC/ROTC Accredited Military Services High School Educational Programs
To recognize individuals from other youth non-educational attached programs with recognition for their demonstrated leadership roles within their organizations and communities
Purpose: The National Youth Badge of Merit Award recognizes demonstrated leadership roles within their organizations and communities.

Eligibility Requirements:
One Award presented per Organization per Year (Maximum 2).
Previous Recipients ARE NOT Eligible for the Award again.
Been a member of the organization for two (2) Years or More;
Be at least 14 years of age and be no older than 18 years old (unless still participating in older youth program which permits participants to be no older than 20 years old.
Leadership Requirements:
For Meritorious Action, Extraordinary Fidelity and Outstanding Service to their Organization or Community
Not in a "Senior Leadership" Position: (Scouting - Senior Patrol Leader, Venturing - Crew President, Sea Scouting - Ship's Boatswain)
Standout among "Peers"
Will still be a member of the organization in upcoming years to be an example of the qualification required and demonstrate these abilities they demonstrated for the award.
The award is presented annually at an appropriate ceremony. Presentation of the National Leadership Award shall be presented by the Chapter Commander or his/her designated representative. Contact MOPH Lone Star Chapter 393.
Please Contact the Lone Star Chapter as soon as possible. Directors of Instruction should contact our Chapter two (2) months in advance in order to properly acquire Certificates and Medals from our National Office. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks so this will give the Chapter adequate time to prepare the Award.
