The students have developed two different prototypes of FBG-based flexurized sensors for distal force sensing during cardiovascular interventions. Happy to announce that my proposal to develop an Intelligent-assisted vascular interventional surgery robot skill learning has received research funding from the Ministry of Science and Technology. This research aims to develop the concept of real-time multimodal data fusion for chatheterization skill assessment during in the field of robot-assisted endovascular interventions.

We have developed new machine learning method for prediabetes diagnosis. Our new study titled: An absolute magnitude deviation of HRV for the prediction of prediabetes with combined artificial neural network and regression tree methods has been published by Artificial Intelligence Review . My paper on Automatic Tool Segmentation and Tracking during Robotic Intravascular Catheterization for Cardiac Interventions has been just published in Quantitative Imaging in Medicine and Surgery. Together with Prof. Ojokoh of the Federal Universtiy of Technology Akure, we have made new advances on automating diagnosis and therapy of diabetes mellitus. Parts of the study won a $1000 USD travel award to attend the 18th IEEE Conference on Industrial Technology, Toronto, Canada last year.

I am glad to announce that I won a research fund of 50,000 RMB (7,500 USD) as a Ph.D. student today. The title of the study is Intelligent Robotic Catheterization System with Two-way Feedback and Axial Navigation Models for Cardiovascular Access. It is sponsored by Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China.

I have advanced a new research area by developing the first automated method for tool navigation during robot-assisted catheterization.
