Monomoy Writes
IntroductionThe October edition of Monomoy Writes has arrived, with new pieces from both The Bite and Sandscript. This marks the first of the 2024/2025 school year and has been led up to with social media posts, announcement videos, and, most critically, word of mouth. For a quick refresher, Monomoy Writes is the joint-run website for Monomoy Regional High School's student newspaper (The Bite) and creative writing (Sandscript) clubs to host all of their works. Whether you're looking for informative articles, entertaining reviews, striking stories, or personal poems, Writes has something for everyone. For students, this is a great opportunity to share your ideas with the world and others; for teachers, this is a great way to connect with your students; and for parents/guardians, this is the perfect way to see your child's work, with insights into the Monomoy life and their opinions on important topics. October EditonThroughout the next eight months, expect new editions; hopefully, the breadth of them will only further expand. Today, nine (including this article) remarkable reports from The Bite and nine poignant poems from Sandscript have been released, encompassing a total of eighteen pieces for readers to enjoy. Much has been inspired by the creative writing club's trip to Pleasant Bay and planned sessions at Harwich's and Chatham's elementary schools, where MRHS student-made children's books will be read to K-2 kids during class time, a cherished community tradition. On top of that, important news of upcoming school events, sports interviews, and opinion pieces have debuted, all of which shed light on the current happenings in students' minds. ConclusionWe are so happy to reveal our first edition of the year to the world, and cannot wait to show you what's next. More articles, more stories, more contributors, more creativity, and maybe even more clubs. The possibilities with Monomoy Writes are endless, and we are NOT just stopping at writing. Film? TV? Music? Podcasts? Art? Research? If you've got an idea, or want to join the Writes crew (or The Bite/Sandscript), email us at monomoywrites@gmail.com. And if you'd like to just simply contribute, fill out this form. See you next month!
