Discord Moderation

Discord Moderation Information:

This section outlines the proper procedures for issuing Discord bans and managing server-based infractions. Moderators are expected to enforce bans accurately and understand the boundaries and context of actions taken within the Discord environment.

📋 Two-Strike System

Moderation follows a two-strike policy:

• A user is permitted two warnings.

• On receiving the second warning, a two-week temporary ban (14 days) is applied.

• This system does not apply to unappealable violations, permanent bans, or blacklisted users.

⚠️ Issuing Warnings & Timeouts

Use the YAGPDB bot to issue and manage official warnings:

To issue a warning: /warn @user [reason]

• Warnings must be given for each valid infraction.

• Apply warnings in both Discord and in-game, if the user is present on the platform.

• If the user is not a member of the relevant platform, issue a verbal warning or direct ban as appropriate.

Use the YAGPDB bot to issue timeouts.

To issue a timeout: /timeout @user

🔁 Ban Transfer Rules

Understand how bans apply across platforms:

• Bans do not transfer between different servers or games.

• The location of the infraction determines the type of ban issued:

• In-Game = Game ban only

• Discord Server = Discord server ban only

Exception: If a user is blacklisted from the genre, their ban is enforced across all servers and the game.

🧾 Warning History

Before escalating punishment:

Check a user’s warning history using: /warnings <user_id>

• If the user has two or more warnings, you must issue a temporary ban.

⛔ Issuing a Temporary Ban

To issue a two-week ban (336 hours): 

Use the command: /ban add user:@ duration:336h

• The ban reason must be valid and clearly stated, do not leave it blank or vague. 

• This is done using the WICK moderation bot.

• IMPORTANT: Ensure that this message is given as the reason or something along the lines:

You can appeal your ban in this server: https://discord.gg/upPBP6K2mx 

After issuing the ban, reset the user’s warnings using the YAGPDB bot:
/clearwarnings @user

If someone has been banned incorrectly or they have appealed their ban, remove it.
/ban remove

🕒 Optional Actions

For less severe cases, moderators may use temporary actions:

Timeout (temporary mute/suspension):
/timeout @user <duration>

Mute:
/mute @user <duration in minutes>

These can be used when a short-term disciplinary action is more appropriate than a ban.

• All actions must strictly follow the server’s official rules.

• Do not apply personal interpretations or exceptions unless explicitly allowed.

🧹 Message & Reaction Deletion

To remove individual messages or reactions discreetly:

• Right-click the message or reaction and select delete.
