Effective 7th September 2022, IIUM has declared the first Friday of every month as IIUM Community Day. The objectives of IIUM Community Day are:
To instill the spirit of volunteerism among staff by participating in community-related activities/projects at the department, Kulliyyah and University levels.
To translate the understanding of bi’ah Islamiyyah into practice through impactful activities.
To support the aspirations of the University towards having a balanced (Sejahtera) staff.
In conjunction with this announcement, mKitchen team members have pledged to try and conduct cooking and other food-related activities on selected Fridays as part of mKitchen's opportunity to celebrate IIUM Community Day.
On 6th January 2023, Dr. Zabeda from KENMS and 11 of her students (from KENMS and HS) prepared a meal for over 100 asnaf students. The meal was distributed at the KICT canteen and was sponsored by Dr. Zabeda’s family in honour of her arwah father who passed away in December 2022. The team prepared Kung Po chicken, mixed vegetables with minced chicken, and rice. Alhamdulillah, the cooking process went smoothly and the students had a lot of fun preparing the meal. May everyone involved in the meal preparation and who ate the meal be blessed always.
Al-Fatihah (recited) for Dr. Zabeda’s arwah father and our departed loved ones. May their souls be blessed with the highest level in Jannah amongst the most righteous people. Aamiin.
On 16th December 2022, mKitchen team member, Dr. Rozailin from KENMS and her rewang team, which consists of Dr. Ahmad Fahmi from KAHS and fellow TACTIC N-Gage member as well as her Usrah in Action 1 class cooked lunch for over 100 asnaf students at the KICT cafe.
