Thermostat was created for the 2019 Global Game Jam with the theme of 'What Home Means To You'. It is a competitive game where two roommates compete on the overall temperature of the house. One attempts to keep the house warm by utilizing space heaters, fireplace, and a magic palm tree. While the other uses the fridge, A/C, and a magic snow-globe to make it cold. It combines frantic game-play with laughable elements of changing the temperature in the age old competition of comfort.
The team set out to make a fun arcade style competitive multiplayer game, and in doing so created something that actually surprised us. With the theme being "What Home Means To You", it only made sense that we focus it on the age old argument of the central thermostat between two occupants. Our focus was to create a simple and fun experience that would keep both players on their toes as they play while preventing every game from playing the same. I learned from this project is that it is entirely possible to De-Jinx a project mid creation even if the lead developer keeps Jinxing it.

My role as Producer was to ensure that we were getting all of the priority tasks completed, and on time to meet the Game Jam's deadline. Ensure people had the resources they needed and of course, keep any and all assets properly marked and organized. As a 3D modeler, I only handled a couple of items. I modeled the bottles, a filled bookshelf, and cans to help populate the environment. I also handled the De-Jinxing of the game's development cycle to prevent any misfires.
