Collaborative Project - Producer & 3D Artist
This was the initial build of the AdventureVR redirected walking experience. This experience was our rendition of exploring an ancient tomb to find a long lost golden idle, very reminiscent of Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark. Using redirected walking we created an experience that feels massive and immersive that only actually fills an 10x10 sq. ft. space. This experience relied on the use of the Omen backpack PC to give a better sense of mobility and without the restriction of the wires that comes with traditional VR and the necessary components. This allowed for an immersive and interesting experience that gave the user the ability to control the speed of the experience and how they move through the space utilizing their locomotion. AdventureVR features 2 puzzles that require a specific order of bells to be rung to open the door, and a sequence where the user must traverse a broken bridge in order to get to the other side high above the jungle floor at a terrifying height. AdventureVR was awarded a 1st place award at the Ohio University Student Expo.

My roles for this project were primarily producer and 3D artist. As a producer I handled asset & task management where I ensured that the team had their respective tasks and the assets created were handled properly for implementation. As well as keeping communication open and free-flowing especially at meetings. Communicating with the team and ensure that a cohesive project was achieved was my biggest desire and in the end we managed just that. I was lucky to work on such a fulfilling project with such a talented team.
As a 3D artist I learned the ins and outs of Maya and surface stuff of Substance painter thanks to another team member Kellye Blosser. My primary tasks as an artist was to create various props for the experience. This included: the bells/bell holder, the basins, the torch, the golden idol, re-texturing and animating the helicopter at the end and some scrapped weapon props (a spear and a traditional macuahuitl or Aztec war club).
