EXHIBIT: 2.7 Miles of Imagination: A Rock's Walk: June 13-September 20, 2026
My handbag "Art Preserve or Bust!" was included in an exhibit of ideas for transporting the rocks of "Rock Fade" (see below) 2.7 miles from JKMAC in Sheboygan, WI to the Kohler Art Preserve in Kohler, WI.
"Art Preserve Or Bust!" - bag front
"Just A Stone's Throw" - bag back
Rock Fade exhibit - these are the rocks to be moved - biggest are MOOSIVE!
It was a GREAT honor to be displayed at JMKAC as I am fresh out-of-the gate in terms of art submissons.
Spot my bag (the only fluorescent item!)!

EXHIBIT: ALL IN - Artwork in Celebration of Pride Month: June 10-26, 2026
My handbag "London 1988" included expresses my own memories and experiences of a twenty-something living in London during a tumultuous time of challenge, hope and energy.
I knitted a bag carrying a beautiful message derived from Erasure's "Chains of "Love", a true anthem of its time and forever.

IN PROGRESS: Midwest Grottoes & Art Sites Project
As a new resident of the Midwest, I have been delighted to discover its many artistic treasures. This includes religious grottoes and art sites built over the past 100 years.
While some of these - such as grottoes attached to churches - were built for a purpose, many were built in people's backyards over time, or along the roadside, creating unique art environments that we can visit today.
There is a deep appreciation for folk art in the Midwest. Check out the Kohler Art Preserve in Sheboygan, WI (jmkac.org) for more on this and the role of the Kohler in preserving and promoting this work.
I have begun visiting and capturing images of these sites with a goal to create designs and knit these.
Lets see how I do!
Bag #784
Style: Handbag - Intarsia, Overstitching
Name: Dancin' Babe
Price: $45.00
Yarn: Acrylic. Turquoise, pink, blue, beige, black, white.
Lining: Cotton. Pink with white cartoon cats, thick fabric.
Button: Pink sparkly heart.
Size: 12" wide at base x 14" deep.
Note: Paul Bunyan & Babe the Blue Ox are on the roadsides of America everywhere, but I have never seen so many as I have seen in the Midwest. I have visited a large number of them already. I love Babe who always seems to play 2nd banana to Paul.
But - to quote Dirty Dancing - nobody puts Babe in a corner! And here we have it, loud & proud.
My inspiration was a specific Babe statue I saw in Ossineke, MI this summer. I hope this is a fitting tribute to sweet Babe.
I used a little overstitching to clean up the lettering when the bag was done.
I lined this bag with pink /white cartoon cats, thick fabric and added a pink sparkly heart button closure. Note that this is a HUGE bag. So cute!
In further research I learned that this Babe statue and his Paul Bunyan companion actually have quite a back story --- learn more at Roadside America!

784. Dancin' Babe. $45.00
Bag #780
Style: Handbag - Intarsia, Overstitching
Name: Grandview Stork & Baby
Price: $35.00
Yarn: Acrylic, wool. Greens, turquoise, grays, white, red, pink, black, beige.
Lining: Cotton. Thick, jungly leafy look.
Size: 12" wide at base x 11" deep.
Note: This is my first art site! I picked Stork & Baby from Grandview because I knew it would be challenging. I can tell I am going to have to work on some of these techniques! But this is a fun start. Note that I used oversttiching here and there to clean up the baby, the stork's eye and the fence posts.
I combined green for grass and turquoise for sky (it was a beautiful day when I visited - see picture at right); this led to reversing the turquoise & green ratios on the back (making it largely turquoise) and also doing 2 colors for the straps! This bag is lined with thick leafy/jungly look fabric. No button closure to keep the look clean. There is no Miss B tag in these photos but I will add one to the back.
See my lovely review at right from Nick Engelbert's Grandview!
