Note: Meet Woofumbo! Many years ago I acquired a Halloween card - see pic top right -and called it Woofumbo. 

This wee Scottie looked like a detective, and my favorite detective is Columbo, so… Woofumbo! 

It is framed, and has sat on the shelf in 3 homes, and after looking at it for about 12 years I finally decided to knit it. 

This is a lovely bag in a soft deep red yarn. The Scottie face is actually the old logo I used for Miss B. And I added the glasses in mustard. Red plastic button closure and lined with thick floral fabric. 

Just one more thing: it’s a keeper!

Button: Green recycled British coat button.

Lining: Thick cotton, vintage-style leafy jungly print. 

Size: 12" wide at base x 10" deep.

Note: Scotties are my favorite (I have had 2 of these dogs!) and they make fantastic graphics because they are so angular. I have knitted many over the years.   

This one is very special,  in green wool from my favorite Briggs & Little yarn of Canada, and had a cute little red collar with a gold tag (colar and tag are overstitched).

The color mix acrylic yarn that forms the structure of the bag yields a nice striped effect. Plain navy handbag straps give this a classy look. 

I added a lovely green button recycled from a favorite British coat I had to retire. 

This is a very solid, square and sturdy bag, just like a Scottie!

Name: NosferOWLtu!

Yarn: Acrylic. Turquoise, white, pink, grey; sparkly turquoise, pinks.

Lining: Cotton. Thick fabric with vintage leafy design. 

Button: Large pale wood 4-hole.

Size: 11" wide at base x 9.5" deep.

Note: Bags often take on a personality as I knit them. Does this not look like Nosferatu the vampire? So it is ... NosferOWLtu! Looking like he is about to leap - or hop cutely - into the air. 

Knitted in a thick dark turquoise yarn, the owl is crafted in white, pink and grey, with turquoise and pink sparkle yarn eyes. 

I added 2 deeper pink handbag straps and a simple pale wood 4-hole button. The lining is my favorite thick cotton in the vintage leafy pattern. 

There is something quite simple about this bag, and yet quite lovely. And creepy.

Lining: Thick cotton. Vintage floral design.

Size: 11" wide at base x 13" deep.

Note: I absolutely love bald eagles and they are everywhere in our new home in the upper midwest.  I see at least one most days I am out and about... really!  

I put him on a red background to make him POP. Note I added a little overstitching to define the eyes. 

2 sturdy beige straps for hand or shoulder carrying. The lining is thick floral cotton which adds sturdiness. For the button closure, I added a wooden toggle for practicality.

This is oversized and really a magnificent bag.

Button: Wood with concentric circles, 2-hole.

Size: 12" wide at base x 10" deep.

Note: This is my second rubber duck and this time is knitted on a beautiful light lime background. 

The bright yellow duck is bobbing along on a blue mix color wave and has a2 navy handbag straps. I added a 2-hole reddish brown wood button with a concentric circles engraved design.  

The lining is thick floral fabric. Sweet!

Note: I have a soft spot for badly-behaved Drinky Crow, the lovable but drunken cartoon crow. Here, he has finished the bottle and is in his cups on a deep turquoise handbag with 2 short black straps. The lining is pink with white cartoon cats (probalby Drinky's drunken nightmare!) and with a bold yellow button to match his beak. 

To quote Drinky --- Dook! Dook!

Note: This is a tribute to Drinky Crow, a fabulous little cartoon character, who likes to get drunk as a skunk. He is knitted on a background of delightful pink vintage yarn. The strap is dark turquoise. I hand overstitched the little blue drinky bubbles ...

This little keep is big enough for your wallet, phone ... and has a loop and clear vintage glass button closure. Lined with fantastic thick pink fabric with a white cat cartoon print. 

A sweet little bag featuring a cheeky bird!

Name: Swan Dress

Yarn: Acrylic. Red, white, black; pink and orange sparkle yarn.

Lining: Cotton. Red with large white polka dots.

Size: 11" wide at base x 9.5" deep.

Note: I have always loved Bjork's 2001 Oscar red carpet swan dress (see at right). I can't believe it was 25 years ago! It got laughed at then, but has since been recognized as imuseum worthy.

This my first complex design of this type. The white front handle serves as the neck hole of the dress, and the  swan's head is an overhang on the front, tricky to knit, but it works! 

It also creates a little pouch behind the swan's head, should you want to hide something...the back strap is red.

I added overstitching to accent the swan's black head section, and to add some little shoes for Bjork. 

I knitted "2001" onto this bag as its such a happy memory from year that would later change us all forever. 

I hope this bag brings someone joy as it does me!

Note: With his googly eyes on stalks, this little crab SEAS you!   Note I added a little overstitching to get the black of the eye right.  This bag came out sort of chunky, but very solid. Emerald green handbag straps. Finished with a nice thick cotton lining and a big plastic yellow button. 

This adorable crab needs a forever home!

Name: Dancing Octopus

Note: Sweet little octopus under the sea, come play with me! Octopi are fun, I have knitted a few and they always come out a little bit different from each other. 

In her shiny turquoise bubbles (overstitched), this little pink octopus is very happy on a maroon background. There is a surprise on the back side of the bag too, a little skate fish, one of our octopus' pals. 

I added 2 handbag straps in turquoise to match the little octopus bubbles.  Sparkly pink heart button sets off the whimsy of this bag. Thick fabric lining gives this little bag good structure.

Note: I began this and somehow the axolotl ended up looking sideways. But at what?  So ... I added a little friend, overstitched, which means not knitted into the fabric, but added afterward. Our axolotl's little pal is red, black and white with a pink sparkle "tail" but I am not sure what creature he is!

The bag is in a bold lime green. I topped the bag off with a big pink sparkly heart, and for the lining I used very thick fabric with a vintage-look leafy design.

Note: This is a purple sparkly axolotl, on a vivid orange background - a brave color combination, but I love this orange and the way the axolotl pops against it. 

BoobyKeeps have a way of coming out in different sizes and this one is big, because it is deep. 

The eyes were overstitched on the completed bag as I wasn't sure where I wanted them! I added a little orange plastic flower closure, which has utility but does not distract from our little friend. 

The lining is a leafy-look very thick fabric, blends perfectly with this bag. 

This is a little bag to love-a-lotl!
