ADHD stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. ADHD is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood. It is usually first diagnosed in childhood and often lasts into adulthood. Children with ADHD may have trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behaviors (may act without thinking about what the result will be), or be overly active. It is important to know if a child has ADHD because that could be the reason they are acting out, or it could be the reason they are having trouble learning. I personally struggle with ADHD and I know how hard it was for me growing up and learning in class, that is why in my classroom I will strive my hardest to accommodate for ADHD.
