What is Plagiarism?
Plagiarism by definition is the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own. You might ask, why is plagiarism so bad after all? Because plagiarism is essentially theft and fraud committed simultaneously. It is considered theft because the user takes ideas from a source without giving proper credit to the author. It is considered fraud because the user represents the ideas as their own. Plagiarism will not be tolerated in my classroom, it shows a lack of effort and laziness. I want each of my students to succeed in my classroom through their own hard work and dedication, that is why I take plagiarism very seriously.
