We collaborated on generating ideas, ultimately agreeing to address the misinformation issue. We reviewed the previous PYPX group's blog to gain insight and began crafting our own. In our research, we identified organizations dedicated to combating misinformation. Additionally, the previous PYPX group returned to present to Grade 5, and we took note of their advice, including the importance of avoiding procrastination. The following week, we attended a PYPX event at another school, where we learned self-defense strategies.
We demonstrated the attribute of being an inquirer by asking thoughtful questions. Through this process, Were able to exhibit the skill of a thinker by developing central ideas. Our research on the topic of misinformation also showcased our knowledge and willingness to learn. To further enhance our thinking skills, we collaborated together to create our lines of inquiry. Additionally, we demonstrated effective communication skills by effectively working working together.
Week 4
During week 4, we focused on developing strong central ideas for our PYPX project. We also learned the importance of avoiding certain words and phrases, and instead using plural words to accurately represent the experiences of multiple individuals. Additionally, we spent time gathering pictures for our "About Us" page, which will showcase our team and our project in a visually engaging way. Overall, we continued to work diligently and thoughtfully as we made progress on our PYPX project. We showed thinkers by creating and developing central ideas.
Week 5
In Week 5, we proceeded to learn about ATL skills otherwise known as Approaches To Learning where we learned the 5 skills which are: Communication, Social, Self-Management, Research, and Thinking skills. The same day we learned ATL we also learned TAG which we had learned before we are the person writing this thing we learned before and just reviewing but for those who don't know what TAG is, (TAG) stands for T: Tell what you like. A: Ask a question G: Give some suggestions. Everybody in the foyer then learned about What we do as students: 1. Present to the whole class. 2. Express ideas in writing. 3. Focus on tasks. 4. Cite sources of information. 5. Work with others. We showed being inquirer by listening.
Week 6
During this week, we attended a helpful paraphrasing session with Mr. Michael, where we were given examples and guidance on how to properly paraphrase. We began our research by creating a planner page and incorporating a button. We also had the opportunity to attend a presentation at Mentari School, where we gained insight into effective communication and collaborative group work. However, despite facing some challenges and disagreements within our team, we remained caring and considerate towards each other, while also showing our commitment to open and honest communication and upholding our principles.
Week 7
As a team, we effectively demonstrated our communication skills by maintaining open and honest communication with each other. Furthermore, we showed our reflective nature by regularly reviewing and revising our work on the blog. In addition, we began planning for our action plan, choosing advocacy, entrepreneurship, and participation as our main paths of action. We conducted extensive research on various organizations that combat misinformation and even delved into answering specific questions such as the various types of misinformation. Overall, we remained committed to thorough research and planning as we continued to develop our PYPX project.
Week 8
In week 8, we showed communicator because we communicated with each other on how we should make the about us page. We also showed knowledge by researching people who try to tackle misinformation and how to counter and avoid misinformation. We also showed reflection by working on our reflection and issue page. We showed thinking by thinking of what to do for the action. We showed balanced because we could communicate with each other while working on our tasks.
Week 9
In week 9, we met our mentor to work on our unfinished task. And then we did our learner profiles and we think what to write in them and we also had to think of the learner profiles. And we also changed our banner. we also thought about our survey questions. Then we put our survey questions in Google Forms then we waited for the approval of the survey questions. We showed thinker for our IB learner profile because we thought about the learner profiles and started our survey questions.
Week 10
In week 10, we made posters for our action plan. We also got a guest speaker Ms. Anya who presented about media and what are the dangers. We interviewed Ms. Maria Fe. We also planned how to execute our action plan. Then we also got another guest speaker Mr. Nikhil about how addicting our devices can be. We also had a session with Ibu Sapariah about how to use media and what is it to be a journalist. We showed communicator for our IB learner profile because we interview Ms. Maria Fe. We also showed inquirer because we also brainstorm our guest speakers information.
Week 11
In week 11 we showed communication by presenting, talking, and explaining the effects of misinformation. We showed thinking by thinking of a new and easier way of presenting to the 1st Grade while also making the slogans. We showed open-minded because we listened to each other on how to adapt to Grade 1. We showed reflective skills because we reflected on ourselves and improved ourselves. We showed knowledgeable skills by knowing a lot about our topic which is misinformation.
Week 12
In week 12 we had a session with Ms. Camelia to change our action plan for the entrepreneur and then we also plan when we could transcribe the interview with Ka Seses. We fixed our blog and we are also finding realistic photos of misinformation we also wrote our persuasive text. We also planned when to present to grade 3 for our action plan then we planned when to sell our products. We also had a grade 5 picture for the PYPX invitation.
Week 13
In week 13, we did the last presentation for one of our actions to Grade 3. We also did another action on the second floor of our school by selling popcorn and chocolate and we will be donating the profits to a local school. By giving them daily necessities. we also had a guest speaker that came to school to tell us about how media is changing and why there is so much false information in media now.
Week 14
In week 14, we fixed the blog from some grammar mistakes and we also included the photos. We also started working on our presentation slides. we also had an interview with Ms. Rose about what are the causes of misinformation and how we can stop misinformation in schools. Ms. Rose also told us about how teachers and parents can collaborate to stop misinformation at home. Then, we also did our board display plan and the layout of our board our display.
Week 15
In week 15, we finished our blog and started making our display board decorations. we also started practicing our slideshow presentation and improving the slideshow presentation. The same week we will also present our PYPX blog and all our work. Finished our planner then we also finished our board display. Then we practiced again for our presentation we also brainstormed a game we could do at the end of our presentation. We are now ready to present our PYPX.
In the presentation, we did well and were confident when presenting. We were speaking loudly and clearly to our audience. We also showed our board to our audience from Binus School Serpong students, teachers, parents, and classmates. We were also ready when our audience to ask questions to us. Then after we answered all the questions we were ready with the cup game.
