It looks like my new lights should arrive tomorrow. The plants seem relatively healthy, just a bit short and dissatisfied. I've also ordered some of this to boost the co2 content in the tent a bit, so that the lights will go to good use immediately. Additionally, I'm venting the tent outdoors now, as the heat tends to get above 80 at times, and it's beginning to smell a bit weedy. I'm also running the heater that kicks on when it gets below 70, because we're cheap with the heat.
Below are some pictures of my first attempt at training the new growth from topping. I also "fimmed" the new growth at the end of each branch to see if I can get those to break out into more branches, and it seems like I'm getting some other new branches in some areas that I wasn't expecting.
I got a macro lens for my phone, and took a few under the shitty lighting, but it works pretty well. The work area in the above photo is where I'll bring the plants to trim / defoliate, and take photos of interesting stuff. Here's some uninteresting stuff taken under blurple lighting.
My lights came in today. Here's my updated setup. I also installed a 4" inline fan, and got better extension cables. The room is still a mess, but the plants are taken care of :).
Some of the plants have been looking a bit sickly or not too pleased. I've been keeping the pH relatively on the low end, which according to this chart, seems to be excluding some of the components of CalMag. I've just watered them with a pH of 6.6, and added CalMag, so we'll see if that helps out a bit. Also, while messing with the humidifier and wiring, I pulled a fan down, and it landed on one of the Blue Dream plants and broke one of the branches pretty badly. It's still attached, and it doesn't appear to be dying, so I've propped it up a bit to see if it will heal itself.
I've also received the Exhale co2 bag, so that was hung last night. The consensus among Redditors is that I should grow to about 18" high, and then flip on flowering. I'm at about 8 inches high now with the training / topping I've been doing. I'm probably going to let these begin to grow in height some, and aim for 2 more weeks in veg to get that height. The plants should nearly double in size during flowering, which will put me at around 3 feet (which is about as tall as I can go with the lights / etc.
