Week 1
Blue Dream / White Widow
Blue Dream / White Widow
Seeds arrived from http://www.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/ (because why not), and with the help of my sister, we placed 8 seeds in some rapid rooter plugs (after balancing PH to around 5.6).
We also added a pinch of mycorrhizae to help establish some base nutrients / root growth.
Within 2 days, there were some tap roots beginning to pop out. About mid week, I opted to raise the lights a bit higher, as they were a little too close. Temperature was somewhere in the area of 68 - 78 degrees. Near the end of the week, I put an infrared heater inside the room and set it to 74 degrees. The humidity says it's around 30%, so I may consider a dome next time, but things appear to be happy at the moment.
Near the end of the week, all 8 seedlings had popped. I sprayed them with water every other day, and made sure that the plugs were staying moist. Lights were roughly 30 inches from the plants. I had to rescue two of the White Widow sprouts from their seed casings (because they were about an inch tall and still had the seed clamped around the would be leaves).
A few days ago (probably day 5), I added a fan to keep air circulating, and help strengthen the stems. This morning I woke up, and one of the White Widow plugs had completely dried up, and the plant was laying on its side looking dead like. I didn't snag a photo, but I did scramble to re-hydrate it, and it seems to be doing fine again.
Here are the last of the week 1 photos. It looks like the second second node is beginning to form on a few of these.
