Automated Product Disassembly

Disassembly is one of the key steps in the treatment of end-of-life products. It is to extract the parts and components from products for reusing and remanufacturing. Robotic disassembly line balancing is an important problem that enables automated disassembly to be implemented at an industrial scale. Its scheduling can be formulated as a multi-objective optimisation problem of minimising the cycle time, energy consumption, number of robots, etc.
