HOW DO WE RECOGNIZE OUR CADETS?
In our NJROTC unit, we believe that leadership and dedication deserve to be spotlighted. We recognize our cadets through asystem that rewards consistent performance, character, and extraordinary achievement. As long as a cadet is following the 4 major principles (Show up, do your job, do what's right, care) Their hard work will be recognized.

CADET OF THE MONTH
Each Platoon Commander submits the name of a cadet they believe has demonstrated outstanding performance to the frontline staff by the end of the month. From there, frontline staff and instructors make the final selection. There is both a Junior Cadet of the Month (8th Grade Program) and a High School Cadet of the Month.
For their outstanding work, the selected cadet receives a Navy hoodie, Navy sweatpants, the COTM Ribbon, and a spot promotion.
TROJAN OF THE MONTH
Trojan of the Month is a school-wide recognition, submitted to the Legion by our NJROTC Instructors. The cadet who was chosen demonstrated exceptional character, embodying the values that a Trojan and NJROTC cadet should have.
For their outstanding work, the selected cadet receives a Navy hoodie, Navy sweatpants and a spot promotion.
PRESTIGEOUS AWARDS
In addition to TOTM and COTM, there are several prestigious awards that may only be granted with approval from the Naval Science Instructors or, in some cases, the Area Manager.
