Personnel who are currently working at the SCP Foundation, both active and reserve, are given designated security clearance levels that depend on their department, role, rank and information said personnel needs on a need-to-know basis. For this reason, the SCP Foundation has established and maintains a system of clearance levels for all staff, documentation and other important information that requires clearance.
Level 0 security clearance are given to non-essential personnel not involved in containment and or research of the anomalous. Personnel with this clearance include but are not limited to, janitorial staff, logistical staff, and foundation newcomers. Additionally, Level 0 clearance may be given to outside correspondence, such as civilian inspectors and authorized government staff, staff not involved with the anomalous.
Level 1 security clearance are given to personnel working in proximity to the anomalous but having little to no involvement with research and or containment to them. Thus, information involving the anomalous is limited to only absolute basic information, if any at all. Personnel with this clearance are often involved in clerical, janitorial, logistical and early maintenance positions within facilities involved in the containment of the anomalous or otherwise involving sensitive information.
Level 2 security clearance are given to personnel directly involved in the containment and or research of the anomalous. Information involving containment procedures and anomalous objects in containment are granted. Most research, containment specialists and field agents are given this clearance. Additionally, engineering & technical personnel are given this clearance in order to preform maintenance on important areas.
Level 3 security clearance are given to senior foundation personnel who require more in-depth access to foundation data logs in order to perform their duties. For example, long term planning and recovery for anomalous objects contained and cataloged in the foundation database. Personnel with this clearance include but are not limited to senior research staff, project managers, security officers, task force operatives and undisclosed staff.
Level 4 security clearance are given to administrative personnel who require access to data logs of entire foundation facilities and or regional intelligence. Additional information such as strategic foundation information and research projects are also accessible. Personnel with this clearance include facility directors, departmental directorate, senior security officials and undisclosed staff. All other information regarding Level 4 security clearance is classified.
Level 5 security clearance are given to the most important and often highest-ranking personnel within the Foundation. This clearance grants effectively access to all strategic and otherwise sensitive data. All other information regarding Level 5 security clearance is classified.
