The internal workings of the SCP Foundation are split up into various departments. Each department covers a specific role required by the Foundation to be fulfilled daily. Departments are staffed with personnel with the required training in order to perform departmental duties.
The heart of the Foundation's research and study of the anomalous, the Scientific Department is among the most important for the SCP Foundation's entire purpose. The department is responsible for the research of newly contained and existing SCPs, developing procedures and measures to handle said anomalies. The department additionally researches technology many believe to be impossible, with said research going to the Manufacturing Department to become a reality.
The Security Department is the primary group responsible for providing armed security to all Foundation property and objects. Security officers are trained to combat potential containment breaches, sabotage, intrusions, natural disasters and other emergencies requiring training. General training is required for recruits and additional specific training is provided, depending on location and object officers are stationed at.
The Medical Department is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the good health of foundation personnel. The department is equipped with professionally trained medical staff and equipment in order to perform their duties. Additionally, medical staff often deal with difficult to treat and unusual medical injuries, infections and phycological disorders. Despite this, medical staff adhere to high standards and professional behavior to ensure the best for others.
The Engineering & Technical Services Department is responsible for maintaining and servicing all foundation property and equipment. The department is responsible for designs, architect, and construction of foundation facilities and transportation routes. Due to the general purpose of the department, it is split into sub-departments and offices with designated clearances and appropriations. Work that the Engineering & Technical Services Department have done are classified unless publicly released.
The Logistics Department is responsible for the transfer of foundation equipment, property and employees to and from foundation facilities. All possible means of transportation are considered when transporting personnel, equipment or property. SCP objects and the means to contain them are usually top priority. Certain logistical fleets will be heavily guarded, usually by the Security Department or the nearest Rapid Response Team.
The Department of Task Forces (Formally the Department of Applied Force) was created in order to handle anomalies that require more effort to secure and contain which exceeds the capabilities of other armed groups. The Department of Task Forces operates a variety of Mobile Task Force units that vary in size and specialty. Each unit is designated with name consisting of a Greek letter and a number with some utilizing codenames. All other information about the DoTF is classified.
The Tactical Response Teams are one of the newer departments the Foundation has established, being the Foundations quick reaction force. Cooperating closely with the Security Department and the Department of Task Forces in some cases, the Tactical Response Teams operates globally in order to quickly respond to emergencies, both internally and recently, civilian cases as well. Teams within the department specialize in rapid deployment and are on a constant alert for any emergencies that arise.
The Manufacturing Department is responsible for fulfilling and supplying the SCP Foundation with all necessary equipment, facilities and other produced objects to fulfill goals. For this reason, the Manufacturing Department operates its own sites and zones dedicated to the production of equipment and other produced materials. All information regarding projects done by the Manufacturing Department and the location of their facilities are classified.
The Emergent Threat Tactical Response Authority is the Foundation's primary emergency management and coordination group. Responsible for the preparation, response and management of emergency Foundation resources in the case of a crisis or disaster. The Authority has clearance and permissions to do whatever is absolutely needed to secure Foundation property, clear out disaster areas, and ensure all Foundation facilities & property are ready in the case of a crisis.
The Department of External Affairs is the Foundation's direct arm to the greater public, being responsible for a wide range of operations. Despite the Foundation going public in 2020, the Department of External Affairs is still tasked with covering operations that the Foundation does not wish to remain public. The department also works closely with the Fire Suppression Department in order to maintain high standards among newly recruited staff. Occasionally, the department may release some information that is deemed viable for release to maintain transparency with the public.
The Fire Suppression Department looks out for the Foundation's most important resource, its personnel. The department serves as the Human Resources for the Foundation. They are responsible for the wellbeing of staff and fostering a safe & supportive working environment across all Foundation property. And as their name suggests, they maintain a high standard of work for personnel's satisfaction to prevent risk of leaving. The department additionally manages most staff, such as their classifications and clearances and may put orders for staff to be stationed in new facilities if it was needed.
The Intelligence Agency is tasked with the tracking, searching and seizing of SCP objects and people of interest. They are also tasked with gather intelligence for groups of interests which will remain classified to the public. All other information, such as recruitment and agents, are classified.
The Internal Security Department is a concealed service within the Foundation. Publicly available tasks are to screen out internal threats to the SCP Foundation, acting as the Foundation's internal law enforcement agency. They also ensure informational and security threats and handled with to prevent damage. All other information about the department is classified.
The Internal Tribunal Department is the judicial authority of the SCP Foundation. This department works closely with the Internal Security Department to hear cases by foundation personnel and other people who break major foundation codex. The department is headed by the O3 Court, acting as the highest court in the Foundation. Due to this department's roles, they fall under the Ethics Committee administration and operates courts across designated foundation facilities.
The Administrative Department is headed directly by the "O5 Council." All foundation operations are directed by this department, including all communication nodes and command centers. The department also manages financial operations under the Office of The Treasurer. Executive decisions are carried out by this department to enforce Foundation wide. Due to the importance of this department, personnel are additionally screened, and loyalty checks are more common. All other information regarding the department is classified.
Running the SCP Foundation are a series of administrations which direct the SCP Foundation as a whole. Each administration covers an important aspect of the SCP Foundation which requires more direct, executive action than other parts.
The O5 Council are a group of the most important personnel within the SCP Foundation. They are the highest group of authority within the Foundation. Members of the O5 Council are granted unredacted access to all of the SCP Database. The O5 Council direct all Foundation operations, internally and abroad.
While the Administrative Department does most of their roles for most of the day, if the O5 Council were to intervene on any manners, their word is final. All other information about the O5 Council are classified.
The Ethics Committee determines what is ethical for the Foundation. They ensure the Foundation only does what is necessary in the most ethical manner that can be obtained.
As the arbiter and reviewers of the Code of Ethics, the Ethics Committee operates the Internal Tribunal Department to do their job of fair and equal trials by and for personnel.
The Office of The Administrator is a small independent office outside of the jurisdiction of other Foundation groups. The Office of The Administrator operates as a "Foundation within the Foundation," with their own operations, goals and missions. Heading this is "The Administrator," the head of the Foundation. Identities, purpose and numbers of the Office of The Administrator are classified.
The Recordkeeping and Informational Security Administration is responsible for the management of the Foundation database and protecting it. RAISA manages access to Foundation information and deciding what to reveal. The administration protects important documentation from intrusions, checking for miscounts and inconsistencies to ensure they are preserved.
The Office of The Treasurer is a branch of the Administrative Department. The office is in charge of the Foundation's budget, having to consider various groups within the Foundation. Due to multiple conflicts of interest, the Office of The Treasurer is imbedded within, but acts as a semi-independent branch of the Administrative Department. Budgets are decided by representatives from various groups, which ends up in a vote.
The total budget of the SCP Foundation will remain classified to the public.
