Living in a city on the Fountain Isle the Kenku and Tabaxi were once slaves of the Azasian Empire until they rose up in rebellion and drove the Azasians out. Life since then however has not been peaceful for the two races as political tensions between the two are always on edge. The city is divided into the lower and upper levels, with the Tabaxi being more numerous they took over the upper levels and the Kenku stayed below. Most Kenku resent the Tabaxi as the lower levels rarely see sunlight and live a more impoverished lifestyle than the Tabaxi above. As a result most Kenku resort to less moral means of survival and this lifestyle and reputation follows those lucky few who can escape the island and as a result most other races avoid Kenku.
