South Aiken Church of God is gearing up for its annual Pumpkin Festival. On Saturday, Oct. 16. the community is invited to join church members from IO a.m. to 6 p.m. for a day of food, fun, music and more.
Throughout the day, there will be carnival games, inflatables, a dunking booth, black light putt-putt and a rock climbing wall and slide A nominal fee will he eharged lo participate in the games.
South Aiken Church of God's senior ministry will put together an old country store, the Life Skills ministry is holding a bake sale and there will be a silent auction for baskets donated by each church department. Craters and vendors will he on hand as well.
Food selections will include barbecue ribs. hot dogs , hamburgers and curly fries “Hie money we’re raising is going to our building fund," said fundraiser coordinator kiln Meeks. I hose who think they have a winning chili or pie recipe are encouraged lit enter the cook-off contests. Four people, including a celebrity judge, will determine which chilis and pies will take home a Best in Show and People’s Choice trophy. Anyone is welcome to enter the cook-off contests for $5.
Entertainment will be provided by Mike Hess Karate. Flatland I xpress Bluegrass Band, Pastor Fox’s Rowdy friends, the church’s men’s quartet and praise teams from the Focus and Youth ministries, The youth will also present two dramas:
“ How He Loves" and “ People (jet Ready.” “Everyone can come and go through it." Meeks said, C‘railers and vendors are welcome to participate. The registration fee is $30 per space.
