Buxheimer Orgelbuch

Le Buxheimer Orgelbuch est un manuscrit en tablatures du xv^e siècle, contenant des pièces originales ou des transcriptions pour orgue.

Le Buxheimer Orgelbuch était le livre d'orgue de la chartreuse de Buxheim en Souabe, où il a été conservé jusqu'en 1883. Constitué entre 1450-1470, il totalise 256 œuvres. Après le folio 124, il s'avère que pas moins de sept mains ont participé à son élaboration.

Le recueil contient motets, psaumes, chansons ou préludes qui se succèdent sans ordre apparent. Bien que les pièces soient majoritairement anonymes, s'y trouvent cependant des chansons françaises et anglaises de Paumgartner, Guillaume Dufay, Gilles Binchois, Johannes Ciconia, John Dunstable, Walter Frye, Robert Morton ou Conrad Paumann (Nuremberg, v.1409-15 ; † Munich, 1473). Ce dernier est leMagistri Conradi Paumann caeci, organiste à la cour de Bavière à Munich, aveugle de naissance et réputé pour ses improvisations et qui a transcrit, sans doute par l'intermédiaire de ses pupilles, des pièces provenant de la région anglo-bourguignonne......suite

The Buxheimer Orgelbuch was the organ book of the Charterhouse of Buxheim in Swabia, where it was kept until 1883. Established between 1450-1470, it totals 256 works. After folio 124, it turns out that no less than seven hands participated in its development.

The collection contains motets, psalms, songs or preludes which follow one another in no apparent order. Although the pieces are mostly anonymous, there are however French and English songs by Paumgartner, Guillaume Dufay, Gilles Binchois, Johannes Ciconia, John Dunstable, Walter Frye, Robert Morton or Conrad Paumann (Nuremberg, v.1409-15; † Munich, 1473). The latter is Magistri Conradi Paumann Caeci, organist at the Bavarian court in Munich, blind from birth and renowned for his improvisations and who has transcribed, no doubt through his pupils, pieces from the Anglo-Burgundian region. .....after
