All BOY & GIRL SCOUT TROOPS and OTHER YOUTH GROUPS

in CAROLINE, DORCHESTER, TALBOT Counties & Beyond

The Mid-Shore Chapter of the IWLA invites all scout troops (and other youth programs) to use the Bolingbroke Park facilities in Trappe, Md for meetings, campouts, and outdoor adventure.  Use must be scheduled. There is no charge.

Use the Pavilion, rest-rooms, & electricity.  Use the kayaks & canoes. Walk 1.5 miles of trails & visit the grave yard. Schedule archery instruction with qualified members.

Kayak and Canoe on Bolingbroke Creek or fish off the dock for perch and other types of fish.  -- Ready for adventure and exploration then you can go to the Choptank River and back. (not for beginners).  We have 6 kayaks and 3 canoes with necessary life jackets and paddles.

Seen are group of youth shooting on the outdoor range under the supervision of our qualified instructors. -- We also offer beginner instruction in the pavilion. Instruction includes: caring for your bow, proper shooting stance, sighting the target, and shooting at progressively longer distances. -- Based on experience, we have a minimum age of 8 for instruction or range activity.

The Pavilion has picnic tables for seating of roughly   60 - 70 persons.  There is charcoal grill for cooking.  – Seasonally, here is running water and electricity and two restrooms.  Also, a pull-down white-board for presentation projections.

The 1.5 miles of trails are clearly marked and are divided into segments that return to the entrance road or connect to another segment. One can explore one or more segments or the entire trail.
