Sample creatures
This little creature is called a ROTIFER, it has cilia by its mouth to push food in and a foot that looks like a tail. This little creature lives in a freshwater fish tank along with dozens of his friends. He spends his day eating the algae and other microorganisms on the glass of the tank, but the algae grows so fast he will never run out of food. These videos were taken at 400x magnification, the average rotifer is only 0.1 to 0.5 mm long.
These assorted microorganisms came from a sample of soil and water allowed to ferment and grow for about a week.
