Curriculum Learning Goals

The learning goals will include competencies that are broadly transferrable. In a review of the skills recommended for accreditation required by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the American Chemical Society, there are many that overlap. These core competencies are present in each experiment so each institution can choose which lab experiences best suit their course needs.

These competencies include:

Develop testable hypothesis

Appreciate uncertainty of measurements, and analyze data using appropriate statistical methods

Draw conclusions from data

Work with a diverse group of peers to solve scientific problems

Manage data effectively and keep accurate records
