Published articles and communications on events, research, educational happenings and the successes of the students is extremely important.
These ran every week throughout the school year as a blog on "ParentSquare" (a social media style educational site), their design was to capture everything happening and research into Arts Education and its importance in the development of the whole child.
I feel that people are most at ease with Professional Development and Staff meetings if there are Norms, Expectations and that we honor Start and Stop times, as well as, have published and public agenda of activities and subjects.
All staff members have access to the Performing Arts Template in order to add items of importance to the agenda.
In order to support the specific issues in Fine Arts Education I use a variety of tools to help teachers understand the needs of the students and the school community. From there, I help them to create a Specific and Targeted Professional Development tailored to suit the needs of the individual teachers and help them better serve the students in their care.
These are examples of scheduling that I have developed for schools that were designed to maximize student and teaching times, as well as, increase both Student Contact Ratio and class periods.
