The Ministry of Finance, and Budget and Management (MFBM), through the Economics Division, conducted a three-day workshop on Reviewing Technical and Policy Documents from February 18 to 20 which was held in Cotabato City.
The Ministry of Finance, and Budget and Management (MFBM), in partnership with the Macroeconomic Research Division of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), conducted the Capacity-Building Training for Bangsamoro Budget Coordinating Committee (BBCC) members on Macroeconomic Monitoring and Data-Driven Budgeting last October 21-25, 2024 in Davao City.
The Economics Division of the Ministry of Finance, Budget, and Management (MFBM) recently conducted an in-depth study on the spending patterns of BARMM-funded provincial hospitals. Led by Division Chief Noraida G. Macapantar, the research team visited four key healthcare facilities in the region: Maguindanao Provincial Hospital, Datu Halun Sakilan Memorial Hospital, Sulu Provincial Hospital, and Tamparan District Hospital.
The Seminar-Orientation on Effective Utilization of Economic Data for Informed Fiscal Management provided an exceptional platform for participants to enhance their understanding of economic data utilization.
The courtesy meeting highlighted the significance of the cooperative effort and the commitment to facilitating data accuracy and informed decision-making within the region.
The seminar-workshop not only served as a valuable learning experience but also paved the way for data-driven, meaningful policies that align with the objectives of the Ministry and the Bangsamoro region as a whole.
The "Pastil Session" exemplified the Ministry's commitment to evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement. By fostering collaboration, consultation, and critical analysis, the Economics Division laid a solid foundation for future policy reforms in fiscal and budget management.
The activity, organized as part of the Ministry's continuous capacity-building and standard-setting initiatives, provided an invaluable opportunity for the Economics Division to learn from experts and gain insights into effective economic research and forecasting methodologies.
The team values partnerships with reputable institutions for sustainable development and effective governance. Collaborating with Ateneo de Manila University and UP School of Economics offers opportunities for knowledge sharing, capacity building, and policy development.
The benchmarking activity provided valuable insights and recommendations to strengthen the Economics Division's internal processes and enhance their role in providing reliable economic research for policy formulation within the Ministry.
The Economics Division's Seminar Workshop on Policy Development served as an important learning and development intervention for BARMM personnel, equipping them with enhanced research skills and contributing to the Ministry's goal of effective policy formulation.
