Laughter: Pass It On

  • Why I chose this message

Like most of my designs so far, I choose my messages for fun and because who doesn't need a little more laughter in their life right now. It seems that the world has gotten to be a more serious place and I wanted to make a positive unpolitical message. I chose this layout because I wanted to play around with the adjustment layers that we learned about his week.

I used a color pallet of contrasting colors. Red-green and yellow-blue.I used repetition in my subjects. I tried to make their eyes the center of each photo and really focus on capturing their emotions without other distractions.

I cropped each picture with a 1:1 ratio and when put together, my canvas equaled 1:1 ratio as well. I wanted to keep this piece symmetrical, so I aligned my text with a center alinement. I gave my images a simple tile pattern. They are cropped identically to fit together to form a perfect square. I experimented with space between the boxes but ended up deciding that no space looked best for me.

For my font choice, I went with one of my Go To fonts "Bebas Neue". I like this font because its is an effective impact font and flexible to the tone or content. For the church title, I choose a more professional font realistic to what a real church might have.

For me, If laughter was a color, it would be rainbow because it is vibrant and is unlimited in variation. I chose the primary colors Red, Yellow, Blue and added green because it would work with these other colors to make contrasting groups. I used a white text because it was able to stand out the clearest with the most contrast.
