Party Invitation

  • Why I chose this message

Wouldn't be nice just to get away into a cabin to mingle with friends like days of old (aka last year). This was a fun mock up cocktail party invitation I made for my fantasy Christmas for 2020. Of course this isn't going to happen, but it's fun to dream right?

I used contrast by using a serif font in contrast with a brush stroke font. I also used white letters to contrast with the gray background. I also used a white gradient in the background of the melting tree topper to make it stand out. I used repetition in the font color, size and style. Also the Christmas tree has matching ornaments to the tree topper. White is used throughout this whole design to bring it together. I used a strict right alinement for my information. I used grouping while presenting my information. Each part of information is separated by space.

I used an easy to read font for my information. Although it is a Caps font, I think it is still easy to read. I also used an easy to read paintbrush stroke to add class and attention to the words "Christmas" and "Cocktails". The red, greens and whites on the tree look awesome together. I think they really stand out against the neutral gray background.

I used the pen tool to make a work path and select the tree topper. Then I used the puppet warp transformation tool to make it look like the ornament was melting.
