FarmerZone™

FarmerZone™ is an initiative from India’s Department of Biotechnology (DBT) under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

FarmerZone™ is designed to be a cloud service offering AI-based advisories for farm practices and market information, leading to enhanced farm productivity and market connectivity for smallholder farmers. FarmerZone™ is being developed to provide key analytics and agriculture-related advisories to cater to farmer needs, e.g. dealing with climate change, weather predictions, water and seed requirements, soil nutrients management, pest control and disease management, market intelligence, etc.

For Sentinal 1 FarmerZone™ focuses on the potato crop to provide advisories on soil fertility, fertilizer recommendation, disease detection and management, disease forecast, weather practice of packages, and marketing.

FarmerZone™ is developed by the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) in partnership with the Central Potato Research Institute (CPRI), India, and IORA Ecological Solutions, New Delhi.
