In early 2000s, I grew fond of the Gundam franchise, much like many Americans after it was formally introduced to the masses on Toonami's animation block - first with New Mobile Report: Gundam Wing and later with the various entries from the Universal Century timeline that served as sequels, spin-offs, and/or companion pieces to the original Mobile Suit Gundam, along with one-off stories, such as Mobile Fighter G Gundam, that were set in its on continuity. I was already a fan of the original Robotech/Macross as a kid growing up in the '80s, so this just fueled that fire even more. It didn't help that I gained a fondness for giant mecha in video games as well, namely with Square Enix's Front Mission series that arrived on the original PlayStation, Agetec/From Software's Armored Core series, and finally Hideo Kojima's Zone of the Enders series (namely 2nd Runner that I truly adored - and still do to this day).

Rebel Unit VVG serves as my own crack at the giant mecha genre and something that I would love to come back to some day. Unlike Bullets, Blades, and Blood, I don't think this story needs a full blown reboot/revamp of sorts. Instead, I think I just need to map out a proper conclusion for it and clean up some of the details and events in the earlier chapters.
