Dr. Enrique Cuan Urquizo is a professor and researcher at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey. He holds a B.S. in Mechatronics Engineering (2009), an M.Sc. in Automation (2011), and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southampton (2017). His research focuses on mechanical metamaterials, cellular materials, flexible mechanisms, and additive manufacturing. He has published over 80 indexed works, with more than 1,500 citations and an H-index of 21 in SCOPUS. He leads the Metamaterials and Lightweight Structures Laboratory, managing projects with funding exceeding 6 million MXN. In addition, he has supervised numerous theses, represents Mexico in international forums, and has been recognized with awards such as “Inspirational Professor 2021.”
