Metamaterials in softrobotics
Metamaterials in softrobotics
We are exploring the use of porous and architected structures in potential soft robotics applications.
We design, manufacture and mechanically characterised lattice and cellular metamaterials. The mechanical characterization involves mainly computational and laboratory experiments. Up to some extent we also use analytical approaches to predict the mechanical properties.
We design and test additively manufactured compliant mechanisms for different applications, e.g. aeronautics, automotive and biomedic.
