MeseMoa.'s main activity is performing their music to fans at concerts. These performances include tours, individual concerts, free lives, and performances at festivals and conventions.
Tours can be a brief whistle-stop tour of the biggest cities to promote a new release, or they can be a year-long journey across the country, like in 2016 when they visited all 47 prefectures. Each tour has its own theme that makes it unique - for example, in each show of the 2018 Maze No.9 tour, the members acted out a performance where they were lost in a parallel world. Usually there is a rotating solo corner, in which a different member will perform a solo song at each venue.
Other than on tours, the group sometimes hold individual concerts to commemorate certain days such as Christmas and Valentine's Day. Throughout the pandemic, both their individual concerts and tour performances have been available to watch via ticketed livestreams on websites such as Twitcast, which are easily accessible for overseas fans. It is currently uncertain whether this will continue as the pandemic eases up.
Sometimes MeseMoa. are invited to perform a short set at a festival specifically for idol groups, called a ドルイベ. Since they're a fairly popular group, they are usually one of the last to perform. Clips of the performances are sometimes broadcast on TV or YouTube. MissMoa. are also no strangers to performing at idol events.
Most years MeseMoa. are invited to perform at odottemita related conventions such as NicoNico Cho Party or Dance Master, at which they often perform cover dances as well as their own songs. Sometimes the members are part of collaboration groups with other odorite. It was at events like these where the members first met and became friends back before Musumen. was formed.
These are usually mini shows held for free in public places like shopping centres to promote a new release. Because these shows are free, they are sometimes livestreamed for free as well. Occasionally members of the audience are permitted to take videos of certain songs and post them to social media, which is usually forbidden at performances in Japan.
Every year on 16th August they hold a big free live to commemorate the first time they performed at Nakano Sunplaza. This performance is usually held at an actual live venue and the setlists are similar to those of their tours and individual concerts.
DD Party is a joint concert held by the groups under DD Company. It has been held in several incarnations so far, including a 2017 tour, a countdown concert, and even an event at a theme park. The show usually has a few performances from each of the groups, some very big joint performances, and shuffle units across the whole company. It's a good chance to see unusual combinations performing songs from the other groups within DD. As of 2018, there are also the Song Club and the Dance Club, for which members are chosen based on evaluations from their instructors.
So far MeseMoa. have performed in 7 overseas countries: Taiwan, China, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea, Germany and France. They are usually invited to Japan related conventions and play a few short sets across a couple of days. Unlike shows in Japan, photography and videos are allowed at their overseas performances, so you can sometimes find fan footage on YouTube and social media. They've expressed an interest in performing all over the world, so if you want to see them, why not try making a suggestion to a Japan convention near you?
Sometimes they also become involved in other parts of the convention, such as being judges for the Dance Contest at Dokomi. Aside from live performances, they often hold meet and greet sessions and have a merchandise stand which is usually a little bit cheaper than their prices in Japan (and certainly cheaper than paying for international shipping!)
These are fanclub exclusive events held to celebrate a member's birthday. The member hosting the event plans the content himself so the performance is always different. In addition to singing and dancing, you may also hear about quizzes, Q&A sessions, cameo appearances from other members, and other special guests. Prior to the pandemic, the venue they held the event at would produce a themed menu of food and drink. Exclusive merchandise is released for the event, which is sometimes designed by the members themselves.
Fan chants are a feature of J-idol concerts, and MeseMoa. are no different. Although you can enjoy the show in whatever way you want, people typically wave coloured penlights to support their favourite members and join in with the chants. This post is a good explanation of some of the most common calls and mixes. In the video here you can see some of the calls in action. Don't worry about getting them perfect though! You can just follow along with the members during shows.
The members also each have their own unique introductions, usually featuring a call and response element. These have changed a little over time but generally follow this template.
