Becky has been a blessing to our family. She has been working with my son for the past three years and my daughter for the past two years. When my son first started with Becky he was failing 7th grade common core math and didn’t like math at all. There was an instant change in his attitude towards math and his confidence grew stronger in a few short weeks. He now continues to progress in math and has been able to maintain an A-B average.
My daughter started with Becky in 4th grade. She is mildly dyslexic and has some processing setbacks. Becky has built up her math skills and confidence. My daughter has started 6th grade with no accommodations and is maintaining a B average.
Even though both my children have different learning styles, Becky has been able to work with them. Both have made tremendous progress and have gained confidence. Becky is an amazing educator! Her ability to work with many learning styles is remarkable. She not only builds math skills, she changes their confidence and self esteem. I have recommended Becky to family and friends. When we get together we all agree she is the best! - Monia, parent of two students
Becky is patient, responsive, and a great communicator. She took the time to really get to know our child and her needs before providing recommendations and instruction. My child's attitude towards math has greatly improved under Becky's tutelage. For example, our child is much more willing to try problems where she's not sure of the answer. No more math fights at home!
Becky's approach has been very effective with our ADHD child. Becky is able to keep her on task while maintaining a fun, upbeat atmosphere. We've seen a big improvement in our child's self-confidence and motivation to succeed, and a drop in avoidance behaviors. We highly recommend Becky's services to any family with an ADHD child who is struggling in math. - Marla, parent
Coming to sessions here was much different than your average tutor. It was a relaxed, neutral environment which made learning much easier. After every session of tutoring, I came out with a much deeper level of understanding and was actually able to help classmates study for tests because of how much guidance I had. - David, high school student
My son's time with Becky changed his confidence, ability to teach himself, and ultimately affected his college plans. When he started failing Alg II, we realized that the gaps in his math understanding were too large for him to move forward. With our high school's permission, my son was homeschooled in math by Becky. He spent sophomore year relearning Alg I. While this set him back a level in his math progression, it paved the way for him to be successful in higher level math courses. He is a senior in college majoring in Finance and Economics. He earned A's in his 4 college level math courses. I believe this is a direct result of his year with Becky. He says that Becky taught him how to learn math. - Jolene, parent
I LOVE Becky and so do my kids! She tutored both my kids. She is an incredible tutor and all-around person. She cares for your whole child's well beyond math. She is intuitive, attentive, and adapts to their needs, always making them feel comfortable and confident. I highly recommend her!
My kids always left Becky’s feeling relieved and confident. My daughter is really particular and fights with me on math and tutoring, but happily goes to Becky...thus I happily drive 30 min to her home instead of going to local tutors. With my son, she clued in right away that he was motivated and wired very differently from my daughter and knew instantly how to engage and coach him. - Carrie, parent of two students
As a parent, I have spent years researching and training myself on how to best help kids like my son to learn and concentrate. Within the first 10 minutes of tutoring, Becky was able to put almost everything I had studied into action! Plus, my son, who was not much of math aficionado, truly enjoyed the sessions - and retained what he learned with Becky.
- Colleen, parent
I have worked with Becky for over a decade. She is an incredible tutor and a passionate student advocate. She understands how students learn and can make content accessible to them. She is more than just a content provider, she helps students become independent learners. - Kathleen Twomey, middle school math teacher
My son has autism and is very smart, but was having trouble breaking down the concepts into something he could understand. Becky and my son spoke a "Math" language that I can't even begin to understand. He enjoyed going to visit Becky and her cat (Sophie) and work on problems together. Becky always went above and beyond the job of a tutor. She would contact the teacher and find out what issues they were having in class and work with the teacher to resolve problems. I highly recommend Becky as a math tutor for any child struggling in school. And I especially recommend her for students with special needs such as autism. She will be able to keep your child on track and keep you posted of all the way through. - Michelle, parent
