I always start with an initial assessment.
I provide one-on-one math tutoring for elementary math through pre-calculus.
I have experience and enjoy working with students who have special needs such as ADHD, dyslexia, processing disorders, anxiety, depression, autistic spectrum, and other diagnosed and undiagnosed challenges.
I have observed that more and more students never memorize their times tables and it puts them at a disadvantage as they try to advance in math. Calculators can’t do everything! I have a special method for helping students memorize their times tables that is relatively quick, efficient, and painless. Students feel empowered. I offer short term tutoring to accomplish this goal. Sessions only need to be 30 minutes each. So far, I’ve had a 100% success rate, even with students who have significant learning disabilities. Contact me for more information.
I am also happy to design short term interventions for other similarly specific goals that are identified by the student, parent, teacher, or that come out in my initial assessment.
Sometimes, several students taking the same course with the same teacher struggle to learn the material. I offer small group classes in which I reteach and review the lessons that are being covered in the class. Contact me for more information.
At the parents’ request, I can:
contact the classroom teacher to see how we can coordinate the work that we are each doing with the student.
attend school conferences, IEP meetings, and 504 meetings when there are special concerns about the student.
