M.E.N. is a musical project born from the collaboration of three Italian musicians and composers.
The name itself is an acronym formed by the first letters of the three founding members' names.
The project merges the tradition of Italian and international progressive rock with cutting-edge audio technology research.
The M.E.N. lineup features three Italian musicians:
Marco Grieco: Composer and eclectic mind behind the project. ( MacroMarco, Samurai of Prog)
Vincenzo "Enzo" Lardo: Guitarist and arranger (240bpm, Nik & i Patafisici)
Nicola Cruciani: Composer, guitarist and sound designer (Flavour Sperimentale, Bar Psichedelico, nik & i Patafisici)
Together, they bring an eclectic work to life, weaving advanced studio production skills with virtuosic instrumental performances.
The album Spillover was released by the Italian record label Ma.Ra.Cash Records, a historic reference point for prog and experimental songwriting.
The production guarantees a high acoustic standard and a distribution targeted at fans of the genre.
The defining feature of Spillover lies in the meticulous attention to mixing and mastering, designed for high-fidelity stereo and headphone listening.
The album leverages spatial audio and three-dimensional effects to place the listener at the center of a true architecture of sounds and voices.
The tracks alternate spoken and read passages, guitar dissonances, and emotionally charged melodic explosions.
Spillover makes pioneering use of holophonic techniques and 8D Audio processing.
This sound design choice creates the perception that instruments and spoken fragments are rotating around the listener's head.
The result is a sense of total sensory immersion that transcends traditional two-dimensional stereo listening.
Complex webs of keyboards and guitars, with evolving song structures and sonic nods to Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, and Steven Wilson.
Driving electronic rhythms and dissonant vocal samples reminiscent of the experimental style of acts like Yello.
Orchestral fragments, symphonic atmospheres, and delicate acoustic moments that balance the more energetic and distorted sections.
The album unfolds its narrative and sonic journey across a total runtime of 64 minutes and 34 seconds.
Each track stands as a self-contained chapter linked to the work's conceptual flow, ranging from brief electronic soundscapes to intricate progressive suites stretching past the 8-minute mark.
"Spillover will take you on a mysterious musical journey... a total immersion in sound through holophony and 8D audio. A super weird yet stimulating recording."
