Asylum seekers

Asylum seekers residing in Melbourne may be eligible for a PTV Asylum Seeker ID and a Concession myki. This gives you a 50 per cent discount on travel throughout Melbourne's transport network for two years, until the pass expires.

Eligibility

Applicants must be 17 years or older to apply for this concession. They must also not use any other concession fares while also holding the Asylum Seeker Concession, and must also have or be applying for a bridging visa.

Send your completed application form to Public Transport Victoria at PO Box 4724, Melbourne 3001, or you can hand the form in at a PTV Hub.

Expiry

Your PTV Asylum Seeker ID is valid for two years from the date it is issued. Once your concession card has expired, you'll need to apply for a new PTV Asylum Seeker ID. Please note that if your visa status changes and is not a bridging visa, you are no longer eligible for the Asylum Seeker concession.
