Below are some of the graduate courses that I took over the past year. One of my incredible graduate courses, Peacebuilding Through Music Education, culminated in a project. I am humbled to have my project featured on the course's website, under "Social Justice through Ensemble Performance."
Below you will find my final project, a professional development presentation, and the syllabus from the course "Let's Go There: Race and Music Education," as well as the syllabus for the course "Music/Power/Politics."

The Nanuet High School Chamber Orchestra members take the time to prepare an audition for entry into the Orchestra, and through their motivation and skill, perform in a number of concerts, gigs, and community functions annually.
Here is the program, and some photos, from the Jazz+ concert, an effort of all of the co-curricular music ensembles during April, Jazz Appreciation Month.
We had such a fun time playing at the Nanuet Art Show on April 1st. This was a great opportunity for the Chamber Orchestra to play at the Palisades mall, for community members, and in support of the Art department. Glad we could contribute to this awesome event! We also played at the National Honor Society Induction, the first in-person ceremony in two years, and at the Tree Lighting (a video below). What a great reception from the community!
I am so glad that the NYSSMA Solo Festival this year was able to return to in-person! After last year's festival being virtual, many students have not had the opportunity to perform as a soloist in-person for over two years. Below you will see a list of all of the high school participants, their level, instrument, and solo title. Beneath that is the same chart for the Highview participants.
I was thrilled that many students who had never done NYSSMA decided to try it this year! They have to be prepared to play any scale on the circle of fifths, the entirety of their solo, and sight read two lines of music they have never seen before. It is a difficult and rewarding experience that need one-on-one tutelage.
On top of preparing students for success, the music department must work out the organization of the sharing of music books so that we abide by NYSSMA regulations. Below is a chart that Ms. Lucksom and I have collaborated on to keep track of how many copies and of what were needed.
Peer observations are such an important part of my development as an educator. Some of the best teaching is stolen from other great teachers! Above, you will see two formal peer observations. In addition to these, I have had the pleasure of observing master Orchestra teachers at our three All-Counties and one Area All-State festivals this year in-person. Their biographies are featured in the program below:
As a member of the music department, I have a large, public role in sharing student work with the school and community. I am humbled to be so supported by my chair, as revealed through his glowing praise of two of my accomplishments below. I feel lucky that no matter
