teaching statement
I believe that movement and dance are for ALL bodies- regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, size, health, ability, class, or experience. I place utmost importance on creating environments that are age-and-skill appropriate, accessible, and yet challenging for all participants. In a variety of settings, I rely on radical respect for movement as knowledge and power, extreme clarity in transmission of information, on the spot agility to help each student find a personal connection with the task at hand, and a healthy dose of compassion to facilitate the success of every participant.
