Providers

Most mental health providers are VERY familiar and sympathetic with the Medicare workforce shortage issue. Yet most are unaware of The Mental Health Access Improvement Act. Although, their several membership organizations have diligently sought to include Mental Health Counselors and Marriage Family Therapists as Medicare providers for decades.

It is important to inform providers and programs that this legislation could benefit them and their patients. Consider distributing handouts and articles directly to them or at their meetings.

The list of supportive provider organizations includes: American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy | American Counseling Association | American Mental Health Counselors Association | Association for Behavioral Health and Wellness | California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists | Centerstone | The National Association for Rural Mental Health | The National Association of County Behavioral Health and Developmental Disability Directors |National Board for Certified Counselors | National Council for Behavioral Health
