Module 4. Teaching – everything you wanted to know but were afraid to ask

All the tasks will be conducted in Zoom with the teacher during the classes. Here is the link: ....

However, if you miss the class, you are supposed to do them by yourself and send to the teacher.

Task 1

Answer the following questions:

⁃        Has teaching changed over the history of times?

⁃        Was it difficult to be a teacher in the past?

⁃        What are the main challenges for a teacher nowadays?

You should divide into two groups. Each group will receive the extracts of the same text. Some of these extracts are written in the English language, while the others are written in the Russian language. First of all, you should restore the sequence of the extracts, so that the text has the right structure. Then the first group is supposed to translate those extracts, that are written in the English language, into Russian, so that the final text is written in Russian. While the second group should do the opposite thing and translate the parts written in Russian, so that the final text is written in English. At the end of the class we will compare your versions of the text.

Task 2

1.  You will be given different parts of the text devoted to different roles of the teacher. Also, on your worksheet you can see the list of words and expressions from this text. First of all, you should read the text and find the words and expressions from the list. Then you should find the Russian equivalents for these words (use the dictionary). We will discuss it together.

2.  Translate your extract from English into Russian. Send your translations to the teacher.

3. Then you should  describe the role you have and explain it to your groupmates, so that they can guess the role.
