Take a look at your preferred source of information / news feed. Choose a media item and read it and then try to answer the following questions.
What am I seeing?
What is the topic of this content?
What is the purpose of this content?
Who is behind the source?
What beliefs / assumptions of the creators are reflected in this content?
Who/what is shown in a positive / negative light?
Who / what is not shown at all? What perspectives are missing?
Why am I seeing this?
Why did this content appear in my news feed?
Is this from a source related to recent searches or topics that I have been following in my news feed?
Is this from a source I can trust?
How does the content make me feel?
What was my affective response to the content?
Did the headline or image appeal to me? Why?
What effect might the media creators have hoped to achieve?
What will I do next?
Will I share / skip / search for more information on this topic / event?
What consequences might this have on people if it were widely shared?
