The Opening Weekend of trout fishing is an enduring tradition here at Meadowbrook on the Pine.  It is the weekend each year when members of Herm and Norm Schwarze's extended family along with a few long time friends, and an occasional newcomer gather at Meadowbrook to celebrate the beginning of a new trout season.  Lost family members and friends are remembered.  New family members are welcomed and introduced to Meadowbrook and it's history.  Cars are unloaded, fires are built, glasses are filled, rods are rigged, stories are told and retold, waders are pulled on, crotch sticks are sharpened, pictures are snapped, casts are made, the weekend and the annual fishing contest begins once again.
