Welcome to Meadowbrook!
Meadowbrook on the Pine has been in the Schwarze family since 1944. It was discovered by Earl and Betty Horan and purchased by Herm and Norma Schwarze. The property was originally given in land grants in 1858 and 1866. The property changed hands many times in the 80 years before Herm and Norm purchased it. The lodge, guest cabin, and garage were constructed in 1912. For more history visit Meadowbrook History.

New Moose Antlers for the Barn (June 2025)
I was beyond excited when Rob Jellison sent me a text asking if we would like a set of moose antlers to mount on the barn to replace the ones stolen over 30 years ago. It seems he inherited a set when he first started teaching and now that he was retiring he was clearing out his classroom. When he went to remove the moose antlers he thought of Meadowbrook. We are so glad he did. We were even happier that he was coming to Meadowbrook in a few days to meet his brother Jim who was visiting Meadowbrook for the first time after a way too long absence. Rob and Chris had the "new" old antlers securely mounted in no time, They are perfect. Hopefully they will again be part of the lore of Meadowbrook especially for those too young to remember the original set.
2025 Opening Weekend (May 2025)
Well we did it again, for the 81st time we celebrated Opening Weekend at Meadowbrook on the Pine. A family tradition that has defined and strengthened our family for generations. This year, to me, emphasized the coming of a new generation. We had nine children under 14 years old including three babies 2 years old or younger as Maggie Bowyer and Eliza Novielle made their Opening Weekend debuts. Great weather and good fishing added to our enjoyment. Fourteen year old Parker Bowyer won the trophy as the next generation made their mark. Did I mention a tick or two did dampen some of our joy? Not to worry we will, as always, convene next year for our 82nd Opener.
2024 Opening Weekend (May 2024)
The 80th Opening Weekend at Meadowbrook on the Pine was, as always, a celebration of family, friends, and tradition. Perfect weather and good fishing put everyone in great spirits. Friday was reserved for kids only fishing for the trophy and they did not disappoint as four different young anglers put their names on the official paper plate on the first day. But as has happened 22 previous times a Mowinski, this time Bryce, was the eventual winner. Brand new andirons forged by Chris and bottles of home brewed mead by Steve made their appearance at this Opener to the approval of everyone. The highlight for many was the first apperance of 1 year old Emma Novielli daughter of Justin and Jenna.
