Dual Enrollment (DE) is a MCHS academic initiative that allows qualified high school students to be admitted and enrolled at KCC or ONU, taking credit courses while earning their high school diploma.
Dual Enrollment is not a high school program. It is a college program for high school students.
Who can participate in MHS's Dual Enrollment College Course Program: Juniors and Seniors
What does it take to be in the Dual Enrollment College Course Program?: Be on track to graduate, excellent attendance record, demonstrated willingness and ability to work independently, and ready for rigorous college coursework
Seniors enrolled in 6 hours or more of course work at the college level may request a reduction in their class load to a minimum of five classes with proper approval. These students must still meet graduation requirements and complete the required number of credits needed for graduation.
**Juniors and Seniors may complete the college experience independent of MCHS or may apply to participate as a dual enrolled student.**
DE students attending KCC will be billed by Momence CUSD 1 for their college course work at a discounted rate.
DE students attending ONU, will receive their discounted rate and will pay through ONU.
***Students must show proof of enrollment and complete the application process with MCHS to be considered for dual enrollment and/or a reduced class load with MCHS.***
