When Taking Your Test - ACT counts the number of questions on each test that you answered correctly. They do not deduct any points for incorrect answers. (There is no penalty for guessing.)

You can send your ACT test scores for free if you make a MyACT account by the deadline (2 days after you took the ACT)
However, if you do not make the deadline: The tables below provide information for assisting students with creating an optional MyACT account after the two-day post-test deadline. Also included are resources for locating PreACT Secure and PreACT 9 Secure score reports.
If students took the ACT with Writing during the Spring 2025 administration and they DO NOT CURRENTLY have an optional MyACT account, they must follow the steps below if they would like to create an account in order to see their scores. The details below contain additional information about creating an optional MyACT account to view and send ACT with Writing scores. The details also contain information about how to access PreACT Secure and PreACT 9 Secure reports.
MyACT Account Creation (for 11th and 12th grades)
1.) What is the Student Code and where do I find it?
The Student Code is unique to each student and administration. The Student Code can only be used before the test event and up to two days after the test event for the purpose of creating a MyACT account and sending scores.
If you need your Student Code - a piece of paper containing your student code will be given to you either before or on MHS's test day, otherwise, create a MyACT Account with your ACT ID (see information below).
This is how you get to send off your ACT scores to colleges for free, which is the preferred way to make a MyACT Account.
2.) What is the student's ACT ID and where do I find it?
The ACT ID is unique to each student. In many cases, a student's ACT ID is the same across multiple ACT test attempts.
The ACT ID is provided on student score reports. If you need your ACT ID complete Mrs. Peña's "Contact Me" google form, and she will get back to you.
Students may also contact ACT Student Services to retrieve their ACT ID.
3.) What is the difference between the Student Code and the student's ACT ID?
The Student Code is used to create an optional MyACT account for state testing and submit college recipients for score reports up to two days after testing. The Student Code can also be used in the alternate Scores Submission form up to 90 days after testing, as long as the student did not send any scores already through their optional MyACT account.
The ACT ID is used to connect ACT State testing scores with a MyACT account and is available once test scores are reported. (i.e. - Mrs. Peña will not have your ACT ID until AFTER your ACT test scores have been reported to her.)
1.) Are PreACT Secure and PreACT 9 Secure scores available to students who have created an optional MyACT account?
No. Scores for PreACT Secure and PreACT 9 Secure are not available through an optional MyACT account.
2.) How do students access PreACT Secure and/or PreACT 9 Secure scores?
PreACT Secure and PreACT 9 Secure student scores are accessed through Online Reporting to your School Counselor. Please complete Mrs. Peña's "Contact Me" google form, and she will get back to you with your score results.
