Not sure if a book is the best fit for your reader? Check out the resources below to make sure your child is reading at their correct level.
There are a number of different leveling systems, each one being slightly different from the others. Here are some correlation charts to help you find the best fit books for your reader(s).

Not sure about a book's level? Enter the title in Scholastic's Book Wizard to get more information about the text, including the level, author, grade level for interest, and more!
Still not sure if it's the right book? Try the Five Finger Rule!
1.) Pick out a book that is interesting to you.
2.) Read the 2nd page. Each time you come to a word you don't know, hold up a finger. If you hold up all five finger, it might be too difficult.
3.) If you aren't sure, try another page and see if you hold up all five fingers.
Ask yourself these questions to see if a book is a good fit!
Is this interesting? Does this make sense? Is this confusing?
Do I know the words I am reading? Are there more than five words I'm not sure about on a page?
Does it sound smooth when I read it aloud? Does it sound choppy when I read it aloud?
If you said YES to these, it's a good fit! If you said YES to these, it might be too difficult!
